TRIALS

                                                        TRIALS

I was recently blessed with a visit from one of my loved ones.  Though it was sweet, it was also bitter.  It was a trail that lasted almost a month and it sorely tried my patience. I did not like some of things it produced in me. I constantly asked God what was I to learn through this. Some of the anwers I did not llike, for example;

Trials or afflictions have a source and a purpose. God is in control of the time and the intenseity of the trial.  He has designed it for His glory and a specific need in your life.  Meanwhile, you are not to worry; worry is a waste of time and energry.

Worry negates faith. Faith is only as good as the object you put it in. Faith is the ability to feel so sure of God, that no matter how dark the day, there is no doubt as to the outcome. Faith is a step on oa rock in the dark.  The trial will prove to be good if you respond in faith.

The trial will strengthen your faith; grow- you- up.  It will be an opportunity to express endurance and perserverance under pressure. God is going to develop Christ-likeness in you, through the trial.

The trial will help you to measure your spiritual walk with God.  It is an opportunity for God to do something in your life. God will walk you through if you respond by believing.  If you do not understand the ways of God, you will be frustrated.  By His grace and power you will overcome.

Some trials God sends and some He allows.  Wisdom is seeing trials fom God's viewpoint and following His word by responding accordingly.   (James 1:1-12 & 1Peter:4:12 &1:7).

PRAYER: Father God may I always be mindful to give you praise in the midst of my trails.  Help me to worship you from the center of my pain so that I can always glorify you.  Let the joy in  my heart be contagious to others that are bound by circustances. Amen

Go Tell It On the Mountain!

Jesus Christ is the savior of the world!

Only He can bring PEACE to the world. A world in turmoil and choas can find peace by acknowledging their need for Him.

Amazing how time moves through the windows of your soul.  How yesterday becomes an absent dream and today becomes a fleeting vapor of reality only for a moment.  How there is peace and suddenly, with a twinkling of the eye, there is turmoil.  Darkness envelops the earth with cries of revenge from an inserrection mob bent on a twisted justice. And a Black poet gives her redendetion of the times we live in.

The light shines forth.  God is in control of everyone and everything, fear not.

Read His word and get wisdom.

            WHY DO YOU LOVE JESUS?

When asked that question I had to reflect on the numerous reasons.

1.    He never lied to me.  He is truth.

2.    He saw something in me worth saving.

3.    He is kind.

4.    He is patient.

5.    He is foregiving of all my sins when I cry out and ask Him to.

6.    He is faithful. I am never hungry or in lack.

7.    He is adventureous.

8.    I can tell Him everything and He never reveals it.

9.    He is supernatural in His provisions.

10.    He performs miracles.

11.    He heals.

12.    He is the bereath I breathe.

13.    He gives me joy.

14.He breaks the chains that bind me and sets me free.

15.    He puts a song in my heart and gives me a road map to follow - the BIBLE.

These are a few of the many reasons the I love, honor, and worship JESUS Christ my LORD.

Great Is His Faithfulness

"I am the (woman) who has seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.  He has led me and made me walk in darkness and not in light.  Surely He has turned His hand against me.  Time and time again throughout the day.

He has aged my flesh and my skin and broken my bones.  He has besieged me and surrounded me with bitterness and woe.  He has set me in dark places like the dead of long ago.  He has hedged me in so that I cannot get out.  He has made my chain heavy.  Even when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.  He has blocked my ways with hewn stone; He has made my paths crooked.

He has been to me a bear lying in wait, like a lion in ambush.  He has turned aside my ways and torn me in pieces.  He has made me desolate. He has bent His bow and set me up as a target for the arrow. He has caused the arrows of His quiver to pierce my loins. I have become the ridicule of all my people-their taunting song all the day.  He has filled me with bitterness, He has made me drink wormwood.

He has also broken my teeth with gravel and covered me with ashes.  You have moved my soul far from peace; I have forgotten prosperity, and I said, my strength and my hope have perished from the LORD.

Remember my affliction and roaming, the wormwood and the gall.  My soul still remembers and sinks within me. This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the LORD's mercies, we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."

Everlasting Light

God said, "Let there be light".

Jesus is the light of the world; without Him, you dwell in eternal darkness, because the light is the most powerful principle in creation.   It is the cause of all the order and beauty, and life of the universe.  It is the most universal of all forces; it paints the flowers and the rainbow; it glimmers in the remotest star in space, it fades away in the dim hue of the smallest organism in the deepest abyss of the ocean.  Beyond its influence, everlasting death and silence reign.  It is the most necessary of all the forces of the universe.  Light is always needed.  Jesus is always needed.

Pray for God to be your light and salvation today!

Watch What You Feed Your Mind

Thoughts are bold, daring, strong and persistent things that can drop down into your spirit and take root.  A healthy mind is one that is open to the light at all points.  A healthy mind is not scholastic or theological, but broadly human.  Therefore, beware of books that contain no "pure mental milk".  The mind needs to be nourished, and the word of GOD; the Bible,  is intended for that purpose.

                       Emerson said,

"The cure for false theology is mother-wit".

The idea that we leave our mind behind when we become Christians is blatantly unbiblical.  There is a tendency among Christians to denigrate the use of the mind.

 But in Romans 12: 1-2;

God said, "We should be transformed by the renewing of our minds".

And Peter wrote his first and second letter as reminders and to stimulate his readers to wholesome thinking. 2Peter 3:1 and prepare our minds for action. 1Peter 1-13 NIV.  Peter makes us aware that the spiritual battlefield is our minds.  Ungodly thoughts destroy relationships.  They usher in negative thoughts of doubt, despair, deception, depression which all lead to death.

"As you think ;so you are".
